New Front Entry Porch

The Wilson-Scarlett Residence addition consisted of a way to cover the existing front entry stoop and connect the second floor addition.  With the design of an existing second floor addition started, the design of the new front porch component, become the design element to tie the master bedroom addition to the existing garage.  With a simple series of roof covering the additions could all become connected.  Brick pier bases for a new tapered column clad in hardie shake represent the look of the arts and crafts along this west facing elevation, along with a low sloped hipped roof with long overhangs detailed with dentil work.  Hardie shake applied to the second floor pulls from the detail of the porch columns and a new horizontal roof connector reconciles the new porch, the existing garage roof and the second floor addition.
