Phillip H Jefferson, Associate AIA, Principal Designer

About

Phillip H Jefferson received his Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida and a Masters of Architecture with a concentration in Urban Design from North Carolina State University, College of Design. Phillip has over eighteen years of design experience throughout the Southeast and the Southwest United States and has worked with Architecture firms in Florida and North Carolina.  His areas of design expertise include urban design, planning, mixed-use, residential, commercial, office, retail, restaurant, and healthcare. Phillip played an integral role in the design of the American Institute of Healthcare and Fitness in Raleigh, North Carolina, a Twenty million dollar fully integrated healthcare facility, while a designer and project manager at Strahan Associates.  Also included in his project experience are numerous residential projects including new construction, additions and renovations, throughout the Southeast and the Southwest United States.

Phillip studied oboe performance at the University Of Florida School Of Music where he was classically trained as an Oboist in the Oboe studio of Dr. Leslie Odom.  He has performed with several orchestras and music groups in Florida and North Carolina including the University of Florida Symphony Orchestra and the Raleigh Civic Symphony Orchestra.  He has continued to study the relationship between Architecture and Music in the built environment through his background as a designer and musician.

Currently Phillip is owner of PHILLIPJEFFERSONDESIGN LLC, Associate Professor and Program Director of the Department of Architectural Technology and Landscape Architectural Technology at Wake Tech Community College and also serves on the American Institute of Architects Triangle Section Board of Directors.
